Dental implants have very high success rates, and look, feel, and function like natural teeth. Implants will give you the ability to eat virtually anything and you can smile with confidence. The implants are placed into the bone and create a foundation for the implant crown. Implants also help preserve facial structure by preventing bone deterioration which occurs when teeth are missing. Dental implants also provide superior dentures by providing excellent support and stability. The natural look and feel of implanted teeth have restored confidence and comfort for thousands of people suffering from tooth loss. Whether you are missing one or all of your teeth, dental implant procedures can restore your smile and confidence.
Placement of Implant
The first part of the treatment involves the placement of the titanium implant in the bone. Then, the implant is allowed at least six weeks or more for osseointegration. In select cases, it's possible to extract teeth and place implants in one visit.
The second part involves getting the implant crown. So just after a few visits, the missing tooth can be replaced with a brand new tooth that looks and feels just like a real tooth. Dental implants are much better than other treatment options such as bridges because no additional teeth need to be ground down to place the new tooth.
Secure Dentures with Dental Implants
No matter how perfect a set of dentures are, it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to achieve completely retentive lower dentures. Due to the movement of the tongue, lips, and cheeks. lower dentures are especially susceptible to popping out at the most inopportune moments. Many people resort to sticking to soft food, and denture adhesives. However, there is a much better solution called implant supported dentures. These dentures are retained by implants that are strategically placed in the bone. This type of denture is secured at the gum level over the implants thereby providing a much more secure fit.
